Experiencing the Cittam – Nature & Mind in Yoga Practice
Through the practice of Asana, Pranayama, Pratiyahara, we can to directly experience how Mother Nature is infinitely wrapped into every aspect and layer of our mind: from senses, to our conception of discriminating selfhood, to our very intelligence – it is all a part of Nature. In Patañjali this three part function is called the Cittam, and we will learn about this central structure and its relationship to our yoga practice. How the physical body is a reflection and expression of this inner nature and how to tap into resistances in our practice to release and open new doors of perception and awareness.
Morning practice will be wholly inspired by Ashtanga primary series, at first led until students might be able on the last days to guide themselves through a sequence based on their own breathing in an accessible for all levels Vinyasa Krama. Evening will focus on areas of practice, workshops, stasangs and meditations. Three evening Jivamukti open classes will be given followed by Temazcal – Indian sweat lodge on the premise – guided by an indigenous Huichol family . We will use a Mexican Diet based on the local abundance of vegetables, grains and fruits with plenty of time for walks in the surrounding beauty of Mexico!
